About the role
Our client, a Series B fintech headquartered in San Francisco, is hiring a Data Analyst to support its product, finance, and risk teams. The role is fully remote within the US — the team works asynchronously with a daily two-hour Pacific overlap window for syncs and reviews.
You'll own the dashboards and ad-hoc analyses that leadership uses to make weekly decisions about growth, retention, and unit economics.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain dashboards in Looker (or Mode / Tableau) for Product, Finance, and Risk.
- Write and optimize SQL against a Snowflake warehouse fed by Fivetran and dbt.
- Partner with Product on experiment design and post-launch analysis.
- Define and document key metrics — activation, retention, fraud rate, payback period — so the whole company uses the same numbers.
- Pull ad-hoc analyses for executives and turn them into clear one-page memos.
What you'll bring
- 3+ years in a data analyst role at a tech company.
- Strong SQL — joins, window functions, CTEs, query optimization.
- Hands-on with a BI tool (Looker, Mode, Tableau, or Power BI).
- Comfort discussing methodology with both engineers and executives.
- Experience working remotely; strong written communication.
Nice to have
- dbt experience.
- Python or R for ad-hoc analysis.
- Fintech, payments, or lending domain background.
- Experience with experimentation platforms (Statsig, Optimizely, GrowthBook, or in-house).
